The "end" pieces on the branches are faintly flocked and conical In shape. This makes the tree look almost real. It looks so much nicer than many other cheap trees I have seen.I will say: the pinecones aren't attached that well (held on by malleable wires) but their looseness makes it easy to manipulate them and put them where you want on the tree. I can see them falling off, but they would be easy to reattach. Also, I do wish the tiers / branches were slightly closer together, but when fluffed and decorated I think this will be negligible.As far as sturdiness, the tree itself isn't too strong, and is very light. I can see it being easy to knock over, but perhaps a tree shirk and weighted base would fix this. If you need to move it after assembly, you have to do so by dragging the base because the 3 pieces will pop apart (not a deal breaker for me, but maybe consider this if you have children or pets who like to climb).Overall I adore this tree and think it will be absolutely beautiful once decorated! (Although it is also lovely on its own!) No, it doesn’t look ‘real’, but it is very nice and has already received many compliments.Regarding the complaints that the tree is too sparse: Take a half hour or so to properly shape branches, and it full and lovely...without being “too” perfect.
