The original tie down was broken when I bought the trailer used. This one looks OEM. Not sure about the weight rating, but based on the diameter of the ring, I would never expect it to hold 1200 lbs. Of course, I never trust the weight rating on any tie down. Both D-rings had spread apart causing the ring to become free from the rest of the tie-down and freeing the load for unwanted movement. These D-rings are not open, e.g., they’re a solid piece whereas the previous models are not. Bottom line- these are a truly “rated” tie-down which utilized a better design and adds an extra bolt hole to secure them to your base material. 1,000 times better than what was there.
