Review: Great for examining negatives, bargain price - BLUF: I recommend this item; it does the job and at a very low price point (~$16 at the time I ordered). It has a decent-sized surface with magnetic stays, three levels of illumination, and is light & easy to use. The biggest drawback is that it's USB (only) powered, so great for a stationary usage, not as useful for use on the go. Detailed review below. POWER: This light tablet uses a USB plug and does not have an internal battery. So don't try plugging it in "to charge" and expecting it will function once unplugged. If you plan on using it on the go, that may be a deal killer, but for me (I use it mainly for viewing negatives & slides) it's pretty much irrelevant. One additional note: I haven't tried it, but other reviewers have commented that if you plug it into a chunk and stick it directly into a wall socket, it will ruin it. I take them at their word & only use the USB on my docking station. Suggest you do likewise. The length of the power cord is roughly 55 inches. BRIGHTNESS: It has three levels of brightness & you can cycle through them by touching the power button. One touch=dimmest mode, touch again to increase, one more touch to brightest mode, fourth touch to turn it off. Works fine & no complaints. There were a couple times that I inadvertently touched the power button (it's very sensitive) resulting in the light going out, but it wasn't that big a deal... I just tapped it again 3 times to bring it back up to full brightness. I haven't noted any variation in brightness across the surface; it seems fairly uniform. LIGHT TABLET SURFACE: The surface seems hard and resilient. I haven't used it as a cutting board or anything, but it seems reasonably durable. It does have a textured surface, so if you plan to use it for tracing, that might be an issue, especially with pencils. For my purposes (examining film negatives), it made no difference. The entire surface is magnetic (not just the edges as some reviews have said) and the tablet comes with four magnetic stays. Very useful for holding items in place. The edges of the lighted area are mark in centimeters and millimeters. DURABILITY: My personal experience regarding this is limited because I only use it at my desk and haven't traveled with it or subjected it to any particularly rough handling. Like everything modern, this is entirely plastic. I wouldn't recommend cutting items on the light surface or pressing down on it with an degree of force, but it seems reasonably durable for office use and travel (packed in an appropriate protective case, which isn't included). I have read other reviews that say they had problems with the plug or the power cord going bad, but I haven't experienced that (I have made a point not to be too rough with that part of it just because of those reviews).
Review: Updated: Seller Fixed Issue - Love it! - I originally got a product that wouldn't turn on. I hadn't opened it or tried it early enough, so I missed the exchange window. The seller reached out when they saw my review and offered to refund or send me a new one anyway (They also specified that they would not ask me to change my review no matter what I chose to do - I appreciated this). I really wanted this to work, so I asked for the replacement option. It was here SO FAST. I just opened it and tested it and it works!! I love the 3 brightness settings and the magnets that hold the paper on the board. The original non-working board looked a little different than my new one, so I'm guessing the seller probably just had a bad batch and worked it out with the manufacturer. I'm so glad they did since I sometimes like to sketch out a design digitally before transferring to watercolor or marker paper and really needed a light board. The brightest setting shows through on a thicker watercolor paper I have, so I'm super happy. Great customer service and product.

**Q: what size is it?**
A: About the size of the lighted area is about 9x13

**Q: Does this have a dot mesh in the background like many similar light boxes?**
A: No, it does not.

**Q: Can you enlarge the picture you are tracing?**
A: This is just a light source not a projector or computer. You lay the original image on it then your drawing paper over that. The light goes through the paper so you can see the original just enough to be able to trace it. I used to do the same thing by tapping the original to a window on a bright day then my drawing page over that.

**Q: Can i use a different charger?**
A: The instruction for it, and I believe them to be try, state that the charger mucst be able to put out 5V, 2Amps.   Old USB chargers could only but out .5 Amps, but most new ones are OK.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I love it.

I have a few sketch books, but I hate wasting their pages. I often use computer paper to practice what I want to draw before putting it in my sketch book. That or if I'm drawing a character and am having a hard time getting the eyes to match, I'll draw one on a scrap of paper and then try to trace it onto the character that way. It's also good for if you are reusing a background. This light board is exactly what I needed. Up until now I had been using my kindle or phone, which got frustrating at times. The little magnets that come with it make it even better. Getting the slips of paper with eyes or ears to stay where you want them to make a character's face a bit more symmetrical can be a pain. The 3 different lighting settings to give you options of how strong you may need the lighting. I tend to use the brightest setting as seeing pencil through paper can be quite tough. Though with the brightest setting, the one edge heats up quite fast, so don't trace for too long. The Light Board is lightweight and thin, making it easy to take with you, but to make it work you'll need a power bank like Ankor or something just to turn it on. There is no internal rechargeable battery.
