It was a lot of fun to play. I played through it four times. I have always enjoy ID software games, I played a lot of doom growing up. I read a lot of reviews on RAGE and whether or not it was good. A lot of people complained about the game. I know the story was not very good, but it is ID software their games usually do not have very good stories anyways. This game is also beautiful and I still play through an older CRT TV. The game play is great I had no issues with the controls at all. The enemies have different ways of attacking you which gives a different element. The side missions are fun and so are the multiplayer legends of the wasteland. The game was on the shorter side, but with all of the races and side missions it felt like a good amount of time for a game. The races are a lot of fun also, although the can be very challenging. It is very cheap now, so see for yourself but I think that you will not be disappointed! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars a really late review *by B***H on Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2013* Rage is a very good game however there are a couple draw backs. first off when I initally got this game I had played almost all the id games so i pretty much knew what to expect. Best FPS action in the industry, easter eggs galore, amazing graphics and atmosphere, bare bones story at best. All of the company's games follow this model and rage is no diffrent. Please dont buy this thinking your getting a fallout deep story RPG kind of game becuase you will not like it I promise. Those who like mindless killing and gore (sounds bad i know) will love this and in a way its a love letter to old school FPS games. Of course it has regenerating health because games cant seem to avoid it these days sadly (even halo). The game sort of just ends abruptly but its still quite long ( I would say 12-25 hours depending on if you do all the extra side quests, races mini games, hidden sewers and track down the cool easter eggs). my biggest complaint is that I was expecting better boss fights, you know like mega hitler kind of stuff. All and all i had a very fun time with this game and decieded to write a review in my excitment for doom 4 also i recomend the schorchers DLC for Rage because its cheap and lets you go back after the end and 100% the game without starting over plus adds ultra nightmare. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars What's not to love? *by A***N on Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2011* This isn't gonna be a long review because it doesn't need to be. While Rage's narrative is a tad derivative, its characters have a sort of endearing uniqueness that's rarely seen in the gaming medium and that's helped along by jaw-dropping visuals that look like they're from the next generation of consoles. Everything from the character models to the guns to the environments to the brutal fatalities of enemies looks (and sounds) incredible. Of course, that doesn't matter if the gameplay isn't there to support it. Rage's gunplay can be summed up by one word: perfect. The controls are tight and responsive and enemies respond to every bullet that's unloaded into them, resulting in a deeply satisfying shooting experience that is further enhanced by ingenious enemy AI that vaults off of the environment, jumping, ducking and sprinting between cover and using grenades and group tactics to outmaneuver and flank you, the player. The guns, while generic at first glance, are all painstakingly re-imagined for Rage's immersive post-apocalyptic world. The driving is expertly-crafted as well, with some insanely well done driving controls and epic, high-stakes vehicular combat.If you're a fan of shooters, get Rage. If you're a fan of RPGs, get Rage.
