Review: Great Option to Deadly Force for Home Protection! - As a Firearms and Safety Instructor, self-defense is important to me. Less than Lethal devices should be part of your self-defense plan. There are times when deadly force is not warranted but a first fight is not in your favor. Pepper spray is a great tool to meet that need. This device is not for carring around with you, it is designed for a home defense. Sabre Red is what a large number of police carry. If it is good enough for them, it is good enough for you. Things that I like: 1) The body involuntarily acts to pepper spray. This means even if the person is high on drugs, their body will react. 2) This product works at a distance (about 20'). In other words I don't have to be within arms reach of them. 3) It is a larger size so it will give you a lot of shots so if you have several attackers in your home, it should last. 4) It comes with a holder that you can mount to the wall to make it easy to get to. You need to be mindful that kids can gain access to this. To help prevent honest kids for messing with it, it has two features that help prevent curious minds. There is a safety pin that is zip tied into place. The zip tie can be easily broken when you need it. The other is a plastic yellow "button" that sits in front of the thumb trigger. When activated for the first time, that button will break off. This is a gel product as compared to a Fog or stream. There is splatter, but it should be easier to clean up in the home if something were to happen. Cleaning this carpets/drapes etc will be a challenge, but that is a small price to pay. Review: AMAZING!! THIS WILL DO YOU GOOD IF YOU DONT LIKE GUNS - I LOVE IT! Haven't had a chance to use it but wow this thing is big and you feel safe with it. I wish I could take it with me while I walk my dog at night. It needs a side holster like dog the bounty hunter has. I have great confidence in this red pepper gel gun. Lets just call it a gun. I don't want to own a gun, so this was a good choice. I have a Brooklyn cold steel bat and a collapsible baton as well. If I ever do use this, I plan on using the bat or baton on them as well. I wont be running away after spraying like they recommend. I will be drenching the person with this stuff. My first experience with mace gel was in 2013 when I was using it on my pit bull who I took in as a stray and who was mauling my other dog months later after taking him in (that's why I walk him at night because he is serving a life sentence in a separate area away from the others). I had a can of mace I bought at a garage sale and I ended up getting some on my hand and WOW, that stuff stung me all day into the night. on my hand?? I thought it only affects the eyes?? if it can do that much to your skin, I can only imagine what it does to the face and eyes. After that incident I seriously do not believe anyone could be immune to this stuff. And if they are, I plan on using this stuff on their private areas and we will see if Mr. Johnson is immune to pepper gel. Just pull their pants down and spray. Or military special force men like steven segal characters who probably use this stuff as a topping on their tacos. **Q: What is the spacing of the wall mount frame bolts?  I'd like to use the mount on my bicycle frame water bottle mounts.**
A: There are 2 screw holes 4 inches apart but it's an open frame design so you should have plenty of flexibility.  Keep in mind that this will be viewed by most police as a very dangerous weapon and you may want to rethink carrying it exposed on a bicycle - mine doesn't leave my house.

**Q: Can it be used indoor?**
A: gel is designed to be used indoors / close quarters. Be forwarned that it WILL still present a little bit of blow back, just not as bad as the liquid sprays. If you spray this and then walk right up into the area of the spray path, you will get minor blow-back effects, but no, this won't send everyone in the house running for the hills like the liquid spray will.

**Q: Can the spray be used more than once?  If so, how many times?**
A: It can be used more than once - I just gave it a quick squirt to make sure it worked and that I was comfortable using it.  If you plan to test it periodically, I'd recommend weighing the full can and weighing again after each use.  The contents are 13 ounces and my can weighs 19 ounces without the mounting bracket.  Make sure you don't over-test; save plenty for protection!

**Q: while on travel, is there security concerns at airports or on airline when it is in checked in baggage?**
A: Not this one.  The TSA website says that, Self Defense Sprays - One 4 ounce (118ml) container of mace or pepper spray is permitted in checked baggage provided it is equipped with a safety mechanism to prevent accidental discharge. Self Defense Sprays containing more than 2% by mass of Tear Gas (CS or CN) are prohibited in Checked Baggage.
