However, I contacted customer support, and they mailed me a new strip right away, even with a hand-written address! Now all 10 of the strips work great.Like other people, I use AmbiBox with this. It's also worth noting that SVP Pro's SVPLight lightpack feature does indeed work with this as well. However, if you have multiple software trying to control the lightpack at once, you get horrible flickering. What I did was set a profile in AmbiBox that detects if a media player is running and shuts off lightpack control if so, and then SVP takes over (not to say AmbiBox doesn't work with video; SVP is built for that though so I'd rather use it for that purpose).Where the Vue really shines (pun intended) is with games though. It really adds more depth - play in a dark room and preferably have a matte white wall behind the monitor. It looks so nice.I could live without it, but it really does make movies and games look a lot better. Unfortunately I did not. The Pivos Vue Lightpack would work perfectly were it not for a broken LED strip I received with it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (A Full Review) *by D***L on Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2016* To start, in case anyone was wondering, the "Pivos Vue Lightpack" and the "Lightpack" are basically the same thing. The only differences between the two are that the packaging for this one is much nicer, there is the addition of a Vue logo on the control box (or hub), and this one is $30 cheaper.When unboxing the product I found that all of the necessary wires, components, and paperwork were included in the box. The instructions were fairly straightforward (more on the process of setting up later). On initial testing of the 10 RGB strips, I found that they were all fully functional.The process of setting up the lights was not as bad as I thought it would be. I am very skeptical of "peel and stick" products, however, everything is still holding up just fine (it's been about 2 months). Don't expect to be able to reuse the "sticky side" if you plan to upgrade your monitor in the future. It also doesn't hurt to check that everything is still sticking every once in awhile.I am using this with a computer, so I can't give any insight into how the Vue works with media boxes like the XIOS XS.Using this with a computer requires the installation of software to control the lights. They recommend that you install Prismatik, but don't even waste your time with that disgraceful garbage. If you want to use these lights while gaming in full-screen, Prismatik doesn't work with all full-screen games. The worst part about Prismatik is that it destroys frame rates. My computer is completely overkill and it still lags out with Prismatik.My ranting does come with a solution. I found an obscure program called AmbiBox (it's a .ru website). It's free, it works with all games in full-screen, it uses very little processing power, and it is massively customizable. It's not perfect, but it sure as hell isn't Prismatik.After using the Vue for a while now, I can confidently say that it is well worth the money (if this is the kind of thing that you like to spend money on). I do, however, have some complaints...The hub has this blue LED light right in the center. To me this is extremely annoying, because when my computer is off the blue light is still on in a standby mode. The blue light is always on. I'm not sure why they didn't just make it an additional RGB. Why does it have to be blue? I'm considering covering it with some electrical tape.Lightpack (the original product) is soon coming out with the Lightpack 2, which is supposedly going to include the addition of being able to accent an entire room with RGB lighting. If you want all of that capability, then you have to wait for the Lightpack 2 to come out. To me this seems pointless. Why can't they just offer some compatible accessories for this kit? I would really like to see some longer RGB strips for lighting up the entire wall. Just splice on the telephone-like connector and there you go. Easy.This product is best suited for people with one monitor, or a television mounted above their other displays. I have 2 monitors that sit side-by-side. I wish that the Vue offered the option to daisy chain additional kits together, even if they all mimicked the same monitor. It's disappointing to me that you can ever only have one kit running at a time. Technically this is more of an issue with the lack of more sophisticated controller software, but I don't expect Prismatik to fill those shoes during my lifetime.In closing, I personally believe that this is the best solution available for those who seek the beauty of RGB accent lighting. It could be much better, but the designers of the product traded customization for ease-of-use. They made a product that can't really be used in any way other than intended. They are definitely hurting themselves by doing that.I hope that this review was helpful.
