But, after roughly two years, that same mattress began to sag in a most unpleasant way. Sleeping in the deep "canyons" created by the foam giving way made my sleeping hellish - or more accurately - way too hot. Now I have more arthritis in my hips and my shoulders and found myself with a problem. I detested sleeping on the mattress and wanted a new one, but the thought of an innerspring mattress' springs pushing back up on my pain points was too much to bear. And there was no way I was ever going to spend $3500. on another Tempurpedic that would probably last me only another two years. So I suffered and frankly, was too anxious to try anything else - even the new hybrids - part foam & gel, part springs. Finally, I couldn't take it anymore and decided to buy a mattress from an online company that really will take back a mattress that doesn't work out - they don't have a business without that perk. I was wrong and It was super uncomfortable, but put this on top and it’s actually pretty nice. A little soft for my taste, but it’s held up for over a year now and it’s a huge improvement over the mattress without it. Tried taking it off after a year and the mattress was still not comfortable without it. Not a big fan of the straps that keep it on either. They could definitely be designed better, but they work.
