It’s a case with a large battery inside. That’s just how things work.What I like about this case is that the design is similar to Apple’s charging case, but unlike their case, it’s easy to slide in and out of my pocket. The texture is similar, but for some reason the pocket isn’t an issue. I can’t say how nice that is. Nothing ruins your day like breaking a sweat trying to wrestle with your phone. And with as many times as we all have to obsessively check our phones, I found myself needing a shower and some anger management before lunch every day. With this case, it’s not an issue at all.The battery is large so I assume it will add a lot of life to your phone. The iPhone 11 Pro Max has a great battery, so I’ve never actually had to switch the case on. But it’s an iPhone, so as soon as I update the OS, the battery will take a dive and I’m sure I’ll rely heavily on this case.I can’t speak to how quickly it charges, but I clicked it on while I was streaming a movie and my battery was charging quicker than it was draining, so I figure that’s all that really matters.It’s great that it works with wired headphones, since I still use those sometimes.To me it offers the perfect amount of screen protection. I like a little, but I don’t like when the case goes far past the screen and makes it hard to reach the edges. I dropped my phone (which I don’t usually do) while standing on a tile floor. The glass screen protector got a small crack in it, but the screen itself was fine. To me, that’s perfect.In the interest of a comprehensive review, I find it a bit annoying that when I take my case off the charger, the battery case is turned on. But three seconds to shut it off before I shove it in my pocket (easily) isn’t a big deal. It also sometimes turns on when I put it in my car mount, but I can hardly fault the case designers for not making a case around the car mount I bought.I really couldn’t be happier with this case as far as a battery case. Because the battery is so good initially, I actually bought an ESR case while this one sits in my drawer because why not have a lighter, slimmer case?
