The unit uses the car speakers to hear the caller so the call is crystal clear. Persons I speak to can hear me clear and loud on their end. Plus, I removed many pieces in my truck to run the line back and under so my 5 year old doesn't trip on it (or get curious). Do yourself a favor and get a harness kit for your car and solder the pieces together. Throw some shrink tubing over that and you're golden.
