This is an awesome device. I'm very happy with it. **Q: Will this mppt charger connect to a venus gx via ve.direct port to monitor through the victron vrm portal? or do i need one with a ve.can port?** A: Yes it will work with the ve.direct port that’s what I currently have for this connection. **Q: Can I use a propane generator with this controller to charge 24Vx300ah battery bank (2x 12V in series) ?** A: Controller will feed the battery from your PV. If it sees extra voltage from your generator/converter it will go to float charge. It’s not meant to take any AC directly from a generator if that’s what you meant. **Q: will this accept #4 AWG cable?** A: I don’t think so. I used oxygen free copper 8 gage on mine and wasn’t much space left so I really doubt it’ll accept 4 Gage (AWG). ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Feature packed MPPT *by on Reviewed in the United States 11 March 2020* When I opened the package this charger controller looked and felt like a sturdy and quality product. When I connected it however there was absolutely no charge going to the batteries despite the controller getting input voltage from the solar panels. After days of troubleshooting and frustration I discovered that the black jumper wire was loose. Tightened that screws and the controller started working like it should. Been working great since. The Bluetooth connectivity is an amazing feature. Being able to get the readings from an app is amazing especially the 30 day report which lets you keep track and compare the daily performance of the solar system. On good days I get over 2KW from 2 x 300 watt (total 600 watts) solar panels. It also tells you how long of each stage (bulk, adsorption, float etc) daily. I have Battleborn lithium batteries and was able to program the parameters right from my phone. Pretty convenient to connect and monitor the controller from inside your house. Only downside is everything you open the app it has to reconnect. It’s pricey but worth it.
