Review: Great piece of machinery - I will use this jointer in my home workshop. This is the second jointer I've owned and used. The jointer arrived in two boxes on a pallet, all of which were wrapped in plastic wrap. Neither of the boxes were damaged, nor were the contents. I did, however, find a couple of pieces of black plastic in the bag that held the power cord. Turns out an electrical bushing was broken during assembly. I assembled the jointer per the instructions without any issues. The only difference I found between the jointer and the instructions was in the fence control mechanism. The instructions showed two bolt holes for jointing and rabbeting operations, and my jointer featured an oblong slot. I was very pleased to find the surfaces on the fence, infeed table, and the outfeed table were all planar. I did, however, find two loose screws, each of which holds a carbide tooth in place in the helical cutter head. When I turned the jointer on, I heard a smooth running machine, and I was amazed by the results of edging my first 10 feet long board. I would highly recommend the six inch Jet jointer with the helical cutter head.

I needed help to set the bed assembly onto the stand, but after that I was able to do the setup myself. Instructions weren't as detailed as they could have been, but were adequate to get the job done. Installing and aligning the v-belt took the most time. Probably would have gone faster with an extra pair of hands. Beds are machined dead flat. The helical cutter head was worth every dime of the extra cost; quiet and finish smooth. I would recommend this jointer to a friend. I purchase it again.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can it be converted to 220 volt?**
A: Yes, I just did that in my shop. Just reconnect the wires with the wirenuts according to the diagram, works great.

**Q: What's tha actual length of the table?**
A: Its 5' long bed, works awesome.  Just perfectly straightened a 14 footer today!

**Q: Will I be OK using this at 110v with a 15 amp circuit?**
A: It will probably work OK. I don't know the amps of that particular motor draws, but usually a 1hp 110/120v motor draws about 12 amps. If you have a 220/240v it would only draw about 6 amps.
The issue with a 110/120v 15amp circuit is that it has other outlets connected to it and if any other appliance is being used on the same circuit you are using for the Jointer it will possibly overload the circuit and trip the breaker.

**Q: couldn't find replacement part at Jet website for helical cutter, shows discontinued. where can i find genuine part just in case it broken?**
A: Under normal and possibly even abnormal working conditions I don't think this is a part you have to worry about breaking.

Neither of the boxes were damaged, nor were the contents. I did, however, find a couple of pieces of black plastic in the bag that held the power cord. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice jointer

Delivered by CEVA on a shrink wrapped pallet. So everything was sufficiently protected during transit. Assembled without a hitch. I was able to move both the small box that contains the stand and motor and larger box with fence and jointer head/table into basement with dolly. Assembly was straight forward and easy. Used paper towel to wipe off protective coating on jointer fence and table surfaces. The five star review was mostly for delivery, setup, and assembly. Will try running some wood through it soon. By the way, i ordered the jet 708118 mobile base with it. The smallest dimensions for the base was too big for the actual base of the jointer. If you do buy the mobile base, you'll have to drill into it and add either plywood or lumber. I used a 2x8 from lowes and cut it two and mounted it on opposite ends of the mobile base. On the jointer, if you look carefully, there are mounting tabs on the bottom of the stand on each side. I mounted jointer stand tabs on the 2x8 and mounted the 2x8 on the mobile base.
