If you look below for more details it specifies they are copper. This tool made the job a lot easier. I used it to connect the plex pipe. The tool is made of tough metal that was easy to crimp the rings together. It's great for plumbing jobs. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Great Pex Crimp Tool *by K***E on May 27, 2020* Seems to be a really good tool and it is easier to use then the ratcheting steel clamp tool that it is replacing. My old ratcheting clamp tool started jamming constantly, so I bought this and it is a big improvement. Although this cannot be used one handed, I usually had to use 2 hands to ratchet down the old one all of the way anyhow. This tool is actually much easier to use then the old one, it is designed like a like a small bolt cutter so it does not take much force crimp the rings. It requires a bit more space to use then a ratcheting steel clamp tool, also there has to be enough room around the fitting to for the tool to fit all of the way around the fitting instead of just reaching the tab on a clamp.
