Image quality extraordinary, and works well with my MacPro, with Dual 700s. The newest iteration of OX 10 (10.10.5) helps make this thing shine, especially with the dual Thunderbolt ports. Plenty of provisions for scaling text and it's also true 4K - 4096X2160 @ 60hz.Would recommend this for 4K video work as well as managing and editing stills. Let's see how long it holds up.The monitor arrived quickly but the outer "protective box" was poorly taped and arrived in an open state via UPS. The inner, original packing was strong and prefect within. As good as this seems to be, I am still disappointed that Apple hasn't yet updated their own Thunderbolt display, but I am guessing it might be an just an aluminum clad version of this, when it finally shows up.I'll update this if any problems arise. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars This monitor and my Mid-2015 Macbook Pro are not friends. *by A***N on Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2016* I really wanted to love this monitor, but this monitor does not work with Mid-2015 Macbook Pro with AMD M370x graphics card. If you turn off the DP 1.2 feature, you can get this to work with the supplied DP cable and use its thunderbolt ports using an apple brand thunderbolt cable. However, it's only in 30Hz, and it only uses a smaller ratio than the monitor's native resolution, which gives you black bars on the left and right side.If you turn on the DP 1.2 feature, the thunderbolt ports become useless. The macbook pro sees that it's connected to the monitor, but the monitor only shows you a black screen, and not a back-lit black screen, but a turned off black screen. However, the light that signifies it's on, is on when its in this setup. Interestingly enough, I read the directions on the manual and saw that they recommend using 50Hz resolution. Which MAC OS Yosemite doesn't allow you to do. So I downloaded an app that could force it to 50hz, however, it turns out that setting is PAL. So it might be the reason why we can't choose that setting in the US. Anyways, as soon as I forced it to 50hz using the thunderbolt connection with DP 1.2 turned on, it worked! But! For some reason, it only allowed me to choose 2 resolutions...Anyways, using the supplied DP cable, it ran well with DP 1.2 turned off, but remember, in 30hz. After running on that setting for a while, it seemed to allow me to switch to DP 1.2 without much black outs. Usually what would happen, was that if you have DP 1.2 turned on and you just turned on the monitor and the laptop, the screen would black out randomly. After I turned it to 50hz though, it went away, but remember, it only allowed me 2 options of resolution, and I had to use a 3rd party app to allow me to access that resolution anyways. It was all just a pain in the ass...Just to make sure it wasn't the monitor, I did get a replacement through amazon and thanks to amazon, they sent it in 2 days. However, it was the same crap. These monitors are beautiful, but if you have a Mid-2015 Macbook Pro with AMD M370x graphics card, stay away from this. I'm going to have to wait to get the 2016 Macbook Pro, and see if they put in a better graphics card, then I'll buy this monitor again and see if that fixes the issue. Maybe LG, or some other manufacturer, might have better monitors this coming September.For those who are curious, here is my video dealing with this monitor. Note, this is before I knew that forcing 50hz on the monitor fixed the issue, but who really would want to go out of their way to make this monitor work? Model has been discontinued, probably due to thunderbolt issues and the related support costs. Works well with my late 2013 mac pro trash can. You have to make sure that if you want 4k at 60Hz that you use a single thunderbolt connection (as per Apple's instructions on their support pages). Also, there is no way to daisy chain another monitor off of the 2nd thunderbolt port, at least not for me! There are some wake from sleep issues, but after 10.11.3 update, everything works much better.
