This bag is perfect for both purposes. It is not a huge bag so it helps me not to do my normal over packing of taking everything with me. When it is opened up there is a hook that you can hang it from in a bathroom or closet in your hotel and everything you need to take with stays secured and in their place rather than everything falling out and it becoming disorganized. The bag has smaller side bags off the sides with elastic bands to hold your belongings which for me is great for makeup and jewelry as I know exactly where it is. The main compartment of the bag is set up in a similar fashion with the elastic holders as well as space in the compartment to place larger items like you hair brush, medications and other things. The bag is not too small to use but more of a medium sized bag that will hold the essentials which helps me to not pack up my entire bathroom when just being gone for a few days. I also like that it will fit nicely into my carry-on bag so that I have the opportunity to touch up makeup and brush my teeth prior to my arrival. These little bags are totally perfect for that purpose, going on vacation, hospital stays and more. They are super shiny with a metallic style finish with a unique shade of purple. They both zip all the way around and can be wiped off with a damp cloth in the event they get wet or just need to be wiped down. The larger one can very easily hold all your hair care needs including a fold up style travel hair dryer, comb and brush and small bottles shampoo and conditioner.
