There are actual pieces of peppers, onions, and garlic, and the flavor actually tastes like chile sauce, not like paprika. You can tell by the instructions on the package; they don't ever tell you to drain the meat (although if you use anything fattier than 85/15 I would recommend draining some fat). We used ground chuck, and it left a perfect amount of orange grease which was slightly visible in the finished meat, but was an indicator of quality for me. It's hard to pinpoint why, but this is as good as any taco I have ever had in a restaurant or at home. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best. Stuff. EVER! *by J***R on August 23, 2015* This stuff is the best! The ingredients are actual large pieces instead of the typical powder stuff you get in other products. I will never go back to another taco seasoning. All of the seasonings are great - and the rice mixes pair so well with them. I make the stuffed pepper recipe from their website about twice a month.
