Prior to trying this specific sock I had tried other brands of socks, acupuncture, spinal injections of steroids four times a year for the past four years, all sorts of yoga, pain pills (two every four hours, 24/7). I could get partial relief for brief periods of time, but the neuropathy continued to progress until I had almost no sense of balance, and the pain was up to my knees. Then I found the Vitalsox Equilibrium Socks on Amazon, and now I wear them whenever I'm awake, and the relief is amazing. The pain is still present, but so reduced that I've only taken six Tylenol in the past ten days! My balance is still off, but much better than it had been. I even walked out of a restaurant without my cane and had to go back for it. When may last steroid injection was due, I was thrilled to be able to tell the Dr. that I didn't need it yet, and I'd call him when I did. That was a month ago.Beware though: it takes great amount of effort and hand strength to get these things on and off. The technique shown in the directions works the best, but it still feels like I should call a tow truck sometimes. That's NOT a complaint.
