## Description

The DRiV Monroe Air Shock Absorber is engineered for drivers who demand superior performance and reliability from their automotive replacement shocks. Designed to handle extra weight, this air shock absorber can be inflated or deflated up to 150 PSI to maintain ride height under varying loads, making it an ideal solution for hauling or towing situations. With the ability to support up to 1,200 lbs of additional weight—limited by your vehicle's suspension, tires, and transmission—this shock absorber ensures your vehicle remains level and stable, even when fully loaded. Refer to your vehicle owner's manual for specific capacity details and compatibility. Built with heavy-duty construction and precision-ground components, the Monroe Air Shock Absorber stands out among adjustable air shocks for its durability and consistent performance. The sintered iron piston and lubricated air sleeve are designed to help reduce friction, ensuring smooth operation. Full-displaced valving on both the compression and extension cycles allows for superior ride stability support. The OE all-weather fluid contains special modifiers to withstand extreme temperatures, further enhancing the shock absorber’s ability to provide consistent performance in any environment. As one of the world’s leading designers, manufacturers, and marketers of automotive products for aftermarket customers, what DRiV makes matters. How we show up and compete in the marketplace matters. Our business performance matters. But the thing that matters most is what we stand for together—what we value. Our values include Radical Candor, Simplify, Organizational Velocity, Tenacious Execution, and Win. With a dependable history, you can count on DRiV to deliver what matters.

Review: Installed on 2005 Deville - At 62,000 miles one of the orginial air shocks was leaking. These shocks are a perfect replacement. They are not the shock with embedded electronics, just the self-leveling air shock on the 'base' suspension of a Cadillac. The top is a little larger than the stock shock, but they do not hit anything. The air connector/nipple is an exact fit. I jacked up one side, put a barrel jack under the suspension to 'unload' the shock. The top nut is in the trunk, under the 'carpet', with a rubber cover that pulls off. There are two bolts on the bottom. Very easy to remove and reinstall. The air line unclips. At this price, they are much, much less than stock shock price. The top mount is an elaborate rubber mount, and these do NOT come with a this replacement. But mine seemed in almost perfect shape and did not need replacement. I think this rubber mount can be bought for about $25 (each?) if yours has been deformed. The ride seems about the same as stock. Some comments on a replacement shock say it is much more stiff, but I feel these are about the same as stock.
Review: Excellent replacement at a fraction of the OEM cost - In case anyone else posted this long ago, here are is how I did it. My old shocks were completely blown out. Start to finish takes about an hour. The rear hopping was eliminated finally. One boot was folded up into the shock, but compressing the shock a few times fixed that. Disconnect the air line. Remove the top 2 side nuts first dropping the shock down. Once those are removed, remove the two bolts securing the bottom part of the shock. I didn't compress the springs because I never removed the arm from the subframe to the control arm. I may suggest doing that however. The shock will then come out. Transfer over the top rubber piece to the new shock. Watch how the washers are oriented from the old shock. Also move over the brackets from the bottom of the old shocks to the new shocks. Then, only loosely put the top bolt on so it can swivel making installion easier. The old top nut will not fit. If you lose the new ones, the nuts needed are M10-1.25. Don't ask me how I know that. LOL! They are threaded differently than the stock ones. Put the new shock in place. Use a jack to move the control arm up so the top bolts stick through the holes. Then tighten. Go back under the car. Install the bottom two bolts. Go back up top and then fully tighten the middle nut. Remove jack. Put the rubber cover back on and molded carpet cover back over and then done.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are these front or rear shocks?**
A: These are rear shocks and are air adjustable.

**Q: does this item come as a pair for 62.42**
A: Yes, it is a pair, and they are good shocks.

**Q: Simple but vital question, on this Monroe MA822 Max-Air model shock, are the air pressure intake ports on each shock THREADED or PUSH-ON connection?**
A: The only way push won't fit is if someone replaced the factory shocks and connectors. Ac Delco stopped making the shocks and sells rebranded Gabriel hijacker with the Ac Delco sticker. They call and sell them as Oem but they are not they have screw on connectors and in addition 25 vs 15 psi minimum pressure. They require and include a spring which will cause the factory system to do this.

**Q: are those air rides shocks**
A: Yes, they are air ride shocks. They are a perfect replacement for the original factory rear shocks on my 2002 Buick Lesabre. Took maybe 45 minutes to replace the pair. Even the factory air line fitting fit the shocks perfectly. Saved a fortune compared to the factory shocks.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy DIY project for a nice ride!!! Save yourself some money on this one!
*by A***Y on April 16, 2017*

I purchased these air shocks for my 2005 Buick La Sabre Custom, 31,000 mile, based on previous reviews and felt comfortable with all of the comments. I only had problems with self made errors when I tried to secure the nut to the top of the shocks, I had the metal washer turned the wrong way, and I couldn't get the nut to start on the threads. The washer looks upside down, and that is what threw me. The shocks didn't look like the ones I have, until I fully extended them. Just hook the bottom bar to something and they easily extend. The Bore or size of the shocks looks a little larger than my stock ones. The shocks don't come with the bottom nut and bolts, only the washers and the top nut that secures the shock mounted inside the trunk. Two of my clips (nuts) were already broken but I was able to still use them, holding them in place with a vise grip pliers. I too wish the bolts and nuts came with the new shocks. Also, I placed the clip over the airline before placing it back on the Air Shock, and it snapped securely. Much easier than trying to spread the clip after pushing the air cap on the shock, then the clip. Looks like my Buick was raised about two inches. We'll see how she rides on our trip next week.
