I bought it because it was small and not bulky and for the fact that it has plenty of compartments, plus the genuine leather look is appealing. This is a SMALL satchel, maybe a bit shorter than the length of a man's hand. It is stiff leather at first and has that wonderful leather smell to it. It looks as though it is "worn and slightly weathered"; as though you have had it for years but took very good care of it. Personally, I think it adds to the appeal. It has PLENTY of zippered compartments on the outside with a couple more on the inside. It will take a little "breaking in" to feel more comfortable, in my opinion. It's great for carrying extra items such as eyeglasses (in case), keys, wallet or card carrier, small notebooks and pens, and anything else you don't want cramming in your pants pockets. It can hold a paperback book but as I said it will take more breaking in the stiffness of the leather for that to fit comfortably with any other items you may put into it. Overall, I do like this product and recommend it. Now after 5 years of use, the stitching around a corner is loose and the zipper there does not open or close easily. So i am buying a replacement now and will give the old one away. bag has seven zippered compartments, each compartment a different size, making each perfect for securely storing separate items. A full-length wallet fits into two longest compartments. The biggest compartment can store sunglasses easily. Keys can fit into 5 pockets. There is a slim zippered pocket on backside of bag large enough to store an id. There is a zippered compartment within a zippered compartment good for keeping a passport.Construction is good. Leather outside, lined on the inside. Bag arrives packed with paper to protect its shape in shipping, with desicant to keep it dry.Nylon strap is heavy duty. I like the smell and all of the fun pockets to storage things. I was surprised to be able to fit my iPad mini in there too.I didn't care for the strap or how it attaches to the bag. The strap attaches behind the bag. If you have it on one shoulder, it seems to bounce around too much. You almost have to wear it across your body, but then the strap cuts/rubs into your neck because there is not shoulder pad made on it.
