## Description

The EmberLit Stove "Original" weighs less than 11.3 oz. (320 g) and is constructed of rugged 304 stainless steel. When you compare that to a full canister of fuel and burner, the difference in weight is astounding! The stainless steel EmberLit is impervious to corrosion and is remarkably strong. This camping or backpacking stove will hold the weight of any pot or pan that will sit securely without wobble. Like the rest of the EmberLit line, this wood burning stove comes with a lifetime guarantee because you are never going to wear it out. With use, the individual panels that make up the EmberLit may take on a slight warp. This is normal and doesn't affect the assembly or durability of the stove. Great for backyard s'mores, camping, backpacking, canoeing, motorcycle/bicycle touring, river running, bush crafting, wilderness survival, and disaster preparation. Made in the USA.

It comes with a case to keep the soot from coming into contact with yourself/items in bag. -Folds flat as promised, incredibly thin (so much so, it took me back holding it, and I thought to myself "and you can really cook with this thing?"). -Did I mention you don't need to pack your fuel! Just grab sticks/grass/pine cones as you walk on your hike/trail/in your yard. So all you're paying for is the stove, baring matches/fire strike/other lighting method cost. Stainless steel: -Talk about awesome option, for those of us that live in areas where it rains. This model (I've not tried out the titanium) feels stout and can hold good weight (I don't own a Dutch oven, yet, but it could handle it). -DON'T BE AFRAID! The stove looks nice when you first get it, but after use, it will change to rainbow and soot colors (which just means you're using it!). Use baking soda and vinegar to get majority of soot off. If you need a good tutorial, go onto U-tube and the founder has a good line of videos to get you set. Design: -This caught my eye right away. The stove is like a mini ziggurat of Mesopotamia (pyramid with flat top). This accounts for the stability, as opposed to competitors who use a box/rectangle structure. This stove does not want to topple over! ***As others have said, make sure to take OFF the clear plastic shipping covers on each panel (it keeps the panels looking pretty prior to using the stove), when you first get it, or you'll be burning plastic (and breathing in plastic fumes :( ).*** I've been using this stove, and it not only cooks well (and smokeless, if you do it right) but it radiates heat because of it's steel make (I've heard titanium heats up fast, but also cools fast too, but to be fair, I have not used one yet.). Review: A great piece of gear - This is a great piece of gear for backpacking, lightweight camping or even just a quick fire in the backyard. It comes together or apart in a few seconds, but it’s very sturdy, especially with the crossbars installed at the top. We bought the stainless steel model. My understanding is that the titanium model is much lighter, however, in a 30-40 lb pack, would I notice the difference? Probably not. After “breaking it in” first in our fireplace to ensure it worked fine, we took it in leau of a gas stove on an overnight backpack trek. The great thing about any wood stove is the limitless fuel around you. Even in the dead of winter, there were plenty of small branches, bark and fuel nearby. We brought along an Altoids tin with some tinder (cotton balls, dryer lint) and both at night and again in the AM, we easily got a little blaze started in the stove, which we fed with fuel once it was going. Unlike another wood stove model I have, there are no vents on the bottom panel of the Emberlit, so in short order you get a nice bed of embers with almost no worries about any dropping down and scorching the ground under the stove. With the large front opening and side vents, there seemed to be plenty of airflow into the fire. I think you could also use the assembled side panels as a small wind shield, if you needed to for some other purpose. It’s a hungry little beast, but also generates a great flame and a good amount of radiant heat, which was very welcome! We warmed and dried our socks and thin gloves on the metal side panels a few times. Felt heavenly. In the morning, I put a full pot of water on top of a decent flame, and boiled it in fairly short order. Your cooking gear will get some soot on it, but to me, that’s just part of the deal. At least with my order for desertcart, it came with a convenient carrying case (pro tip: pack some char cloth or tissues or cotton in between the panels when they’re flat so you’ve got plenty of tinder). Once it was cool, everything comes apart and fits flat. The pouch is small enough to even fit in your cargo pants, most likely. Downsides? Not many. It’s smaller than my other backpacking woodstove, with a smaller front feed hole, so I guess that’s a constraint, but not a big one, in my opinion. It’s plenty big for most sticks, downed branches and other fuel you’ll find. The only other downside I can possibly mention is that the edges of the metal were a little sharp. Certainly not “stitches” sharp, but I guess you could cut yourself putting it together. If you tried. I didn’t. Overall, highly recommend. Truly a great piece of camping gear.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great piece of gear

This is a great piece of gear for backpacking, lightweight camping or even just a quick fire in the backyard. It comes together or apart in a few seconds, but it’s very sturdy, especially with the crossbars installed at the top. We bought the stainless steel model. My understanding is that the titanium model is much lighter, however, in a 30-40 lb pack, would I notice the difference? Probably not. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great wood stove, pleasantly surprised.

This was really a surprise for me. I've had this stove over a year and used it on many occasions. It packs down very small, if not light, and is easily assembled in 30 seconds or so. Its diminutive size means that you don't need to build a large fire to really get a lot of heat. It's easy to drop stuff in and get things cooking. The side window for larger sticks works well. Once the fire is self sustaining and you have some coals, it's simple a matter of laying a few larger sticks in the side and pushing them in as they burn. You can boil a cup or two of water on this thing in no time flat. Make sure that cup has a lid though, or you'll have ash everywhere. What's nice about this setup is that you can slowly stoke a fire all night on it without worrying about using up too much fuel. I like cooking over iso-butane/propane more with something like a pocket rocket because it's clean and light and fast, but for longer term trips where I don't mind the weight, I may bring this to augment my cooking system so I don't need to carry as much fuel. One final note, and really this seems obvious, but seriously have some respect for how hot thing thing gets. It will carve through your skin and turn it to dust like a hot knife through butter. I think if I had to buy this again, I'd buy once, cry once and opt to spend twice as much to have it weigh half as much with the titanium version.
