The card does tell you to place the card 6 feet from your eyes to use the standard letter-side. The other side indicates a 36 cm distance. The card itself is about 3.5 x 6.5 inches. **Q: Can the chart be used with a trial lens set to determine prescription?** A: Not recommended. Not accurate enough **Q: I don't understand when this might be useful and how it can be used to an advantage vs. having a regular sized eye chart on one's wall?** A: You also do not have to be as far away from it to use it as you would with a large wall chart. This allows for use in places where you do not have room to get farther away. You could also more easily use it for people who are bed-ridden or wheelchair-bound. **Q: Is this rigid, or does it easily fold?** A: It's rigid. My physicians use it to be into a lab coat pocket.
