I love all instant films, anything keeping the instant film community alive I am good with. I feel the most important thing is direct sun, too much shade or overcast and the images can be disappointing. They key is to make sure you have a quality camera, there are lots on the market and they don't all work as one would hope, and second take your time with the film, don't expect perfection and embrace the imperfections. I rarely have a failed shot and I cannot think of one that was due to the film itself. The more we support the various instant film companies the better their products will become (look at how far Impossible/Polaroid Original has come). Don't give up after one pack, invest some money and time and learn the film's nuances. Shooting instant film has made me a better photographer, I shoot only film of all sorts and I have learned to embrace shots that before I ignored due to their lack of perfect. Some of my favorite instant shots are perfectly imperfect. As more films are discontinued (Fuji fp100c being the latest casualty in the jnstant world) our options become so limited and prices climb. The only way to save films to to actively purchase and support both the small companies and the large. I was a little skeptical to buy such a large pack because you just never know. The package came quickly. Honestly, the photos came out perfectly. I had no problems with it. With that being said, I've only used 2 of my 5 packs. I read a lot of the reviews and I see what people say about having lines and overexposed photos, etc. You have to remember Polaroid photos aren't digital. It isn't going to be 100% clear, it has that old school vintage look and color. There's also a lot of little tips and tricks to get your photos to come out better and it isn't only dependant on the film you buy. For example, making sure your camera rollers are clean (to avoid streaks). Also, not every camera is the same. It might take a few tries to know how to adjust everything. My camera is from the 1980s and the first few photos were overexposed because I didn't know to adjust the light slide. I'm not an expert, but I read about what I can do to help my photos. My best tip would be to google and learn more, the polaroid website has a nice section of information about it. Now I keep my film in the fridge and I make sure I give it an hour to get back to normal temperature before I use it again. I also make sure to have a place to shield my photos from the light... there's a lot of little things. The film is expensive, but at least this way you get the most for your money.
