I drive a 2005 Ford Excursion With the 6.0 Diesel. I had read online that the delta between ECT and EOT should not exceed 15 degrees farenheit. Most monitors have ECT. But only a few have oil temperature. This item claimed to measure oil temp. So I purchased it.When I first connected the monitor, I searched and searched and could not find a setting for EOT. After reading the instructions I found that Oil Temp is indicated as OIT rather than the standard EOT. This was my first clue something wasn’t quite on target.After running the truck several times with this monitor connected, it was indicating that OIT was running about 5 degrees cooler than ECT. This just should never be the case except when the truck is warming up. Once the truck is warmed up, Oil should always run hotter than coolant.I purchased another monitor which I knew measured EOT and found that indeed, the Oil Temp (OIT) indicated by this item is simply not accurate. I have no idea how they are determining this OIT temp, but it isn’t the true engine oil temp coming from the sensors and back through the obd2 port.There are many features I like about this item. Unfortunately it fell short for my use. I’ll still give it four stars because for many people, they will not need to measure oil temp. But beware if you do need EOT- this item is useless for this measurement.Also note, I don’t believe the mileage estimates are completely accurate either. ### ⭐ Quality control is a major issue here *by J***2 on Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2020* Edit #2 well now the product has failed miserably fell on its face doesn't even turn on anymore no bolt connection shown.Terrible quality now the window suction mount spring has magically broken and can't be put back together. Updated my review to now 1 star doesn't even deserve that to be honest. I still cant get my boost guage to work or the water temp. Those two functions are Intended for use of OBD port. Which does NOT work with my vehicle at all. Seller will have 24 hours to respond to me send me out new unit as this one MUST GO BACK to the shelvesReturning ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ low cost solution to get my car readings back *by P***C on Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2020* My 12 yrs old car has just passed 200k miles line and everything starts to fade away like a veteran. After one minor accident, all of a sudden, all the dash indicators stopped working that no speed and no rpm. It is a manual gear that I would need to know the rpm and also the speed in order to avoid the speeding ticket. The quote from the technician is way beyond the residual value of the car itself. Luckily, the OBD2 port still provides readings. I used an OBD reader at the beginning and it doesn't work well quite well until I found this gadget. With a small investment, I can the readings back without being ripped off by the auto shop.
