What am I missing?** A: Not sure of your problem, as the route I had to take for may cables was about 100 ft of CAT 6. I originally had CAT 5 non shielded cables, and after installing LED lighting with a dimmer switch, it would really screw up the signal. I assumed it would overlay a frequency that would chop up the transmitted signal by the extender. I called AV Access they thought so also. I replaced with CAT 6 shielded cables and the problem went away. **Q: What version USB does this device support?** A: It is not for USB, it is a HDMI extender **Q: Can the Ethernet cable be connected through a network switch or does it have to be direct?** A: Dear Rolando, Thank you for asking. Sorry it must be connect from transmitter to receiver directly. Can not through any switch. (AV Access) **Q: Do this support 3440x1440 resolution?** A: 4K resolution is it's max ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This really works and passes 4K@60 *by on Reviewed in the United States January 12, 2022* I hooked this up last year December of 2020 and this has worked flawlessly for over a year. I am using CAT 6a and the run is very long as it goes from the front of my room up through the wall, into the ceiling, across the room and then back over to the center of the room where my EPSON HC5050UB is.If I look at the input details on a HDR movie from my player it shows 60K. I am simply blown away that this works and recommend it to anyone who does not want to run a HDMI or where it is easier to fish a CAT cable through the walls etc.Maybe once or twice I had to unplug the box at my receiver and plug it back in to get the signal to work - but that was maybe when I didn't use my theater room in a couple of weeks / month(s).I have no issues passing any content - Firestick, XBox, Bluray, 3D, 4K --- I have never received any errors. Hope this helps other owners out there looking for a great alternative to solve long run cable issues, or don't want to have to swap HDMIs every time something changes ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great! *by on Reviewed in the United States January 28, 2024* I’ve had this for over a year now and it’s still working great. I needed to run ~40ft of hdmi cable from my tv to my media area. 4k over HDMI will not travel this far. Using this allowed me to get lag free crystal clear 4k with no issues. I can control my audio and power off/on all devices from my Apple TV remote as well. ### ⭐ can’t handle 4k *by on Reviewed in the United States April 29, 2024* i had a 4k extender from black box that worked great for 7 years. unfortunately a power failure and then surge knocked out the receiver end of the extender. to compound the problem the 4k extender from black box is on back order. so no tv in the living room. based on product description i ordered this unit from amazon.no good on 4k. 720 or 1080 ok but no 4k.now i am waiting for a return authorization from amazon that i am having problems getting. not sure why.i do not recommend this hdmi extender for 4k. ## Frequently Bought Together - AV Access 4K HDMI Extender Over Cat5e/6/6a/7 4K@60Hz up to 115ft, 1080P up to 164ft, HDR10+, HDMI 2.0 YUV4:4:4, HDCP 2.2, 18Gbps, Plug & Play, IR Return & PoE, Smart EDID - AV Access USB Extender Over Cat5e/6 196ft/60M, 4 USB 2.0 Ports, Plug and Play, No Driver, Supports All Operating System, Two Webcams Work Synchronously, Keyboard and Mouse Over Ethernet - 4K HDMI USB KVM Extender TCP/IP Over Single Cat5e/6/6a/7 up to 120M(390ft), 1080P@120Hz, Plug & Play, Keyboard & Mouse Over Network, Zero Latency, 3 Ports USB Hub, DIP up to 16 Sets (4KIP100-KVM) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/162548505-av-access-4k-60hz-hdmi-extender-over-ethernet-up-to](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/162548505-av-access-4k-60hz-hdmi-extender-over-ethernet-up-to) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-09*
