The tag on the product says it is made in China. I do not normally like things made in China; but from a safety perspective, the product works very well, does not have safety issue that my winch's steel cable have when they break with the potential of hurting personnel and equipment. Product is 30 pounds lighter than my tow chain of same length and towing strength, and mud washes off product much easier. We have a family working farm and product is used often to pull equipment out of mud or pull trees/timber or other things around farm. I am very happy with the product and use it in place of 4 cable winches (all in 100% working order) that I currently have on 4 of my farm vehicles. **Q: Is it 2" by 20'? not 2" by 20"?** A: 2" x 20' **Q: Can the hooks be removed?** A: i have a better question. WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO? and no they can't. find straps with no hooks to begin with. **Q: How wide are the metal hooks?
