I think 1 3/4" hole cut might work but a little snug. Good cups for hydroponics. I like this design over the ones with just the round holes. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect fit. *by D***E on October 28, 2016* They fit perfect with the 2" hooked I drilled in my DIY cloner I made I was worried because some said they fall thru. Well I can tell you there's no way they will. At least not the ones I got. Maybe they are using bad hole saws. These have a tiny rib below the lip that you can use to sit the cups up higher, or firmly push them into the hole and they actually LOCKED in. Rather than just sit there, I liked that. I cut the bottoms off cause I plan to replant them later in a DWC system I made. They are very thin and flexible.
