Originally I bought a generic lens cover but it was hard to open and close and also jammed. I decided to purchase a oem cover and you can tell the difference between the cheap generic and original Oylimpus brand. This cover is easy to open and close, it does not jam or stick and is easy to use with your finger and thumb. I can now close the lens cover with ease and between shots. The cover is extortionatly expensive for what it it but worth the extra you pay as it does work. Additionally it also works perfectly if you have the rubber protective case fitted. Expensive but worth it Review: A necessity but overpriced. - Absolute necessity! Fits beautifully and is simply operated. I'd like to avoid water beading on the lens after taking it out of the water to shoot.** A: No it will not stop water getting in, it is a simple plastic device that shuts over the lens and stop it getting scratches on if you keep it in your pocket or maybe a bag. But it do protect the lens it is a must have bit of kit one scratch on the lens and the camera will be useless. I also have a screen protector on and keep it in a sunglass bag then slip it in my pocket. If I'm out and about I use a lanyard and let the camera dangle around my neck knowing it is protected. **Q: Can you have this attached at the same time as the protective filter?** A: I assume you mean a screw on UV filter or similar, then the answer is yes, if you mean over a Colin type filter holder, then no. **Q: Is it suitable for OMD cameras?** A: This is only for use on the Olympus Tough range of cameras and replaces the bezel ring that surrounds the lens. It does not fit the OMD range **Q: Does the lens cap have to be removed when using the camera underwater?** A: As I understand it, yes. The lens protector really should come with the camera. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy open dust/grit prevention lens cap *by P***T on 25 April 2023* Fitted my Olympus TG6 perfectly, simple rotation of the cap opens the twin shutters built in to allow picture taking. More expensive than basic but can be left locked in place permanently so easy to use and protects the lens otherwise.
