It's not a problem to pull it from the end of your putter when needed, it's just that I have a divot tool. The "Halo" has been the best device I've found for the purpose of retrieving a golf ball from the hole as it performs other duties as well. I have used this for several years now & wind up giving them to golf buddies who are in need. It does not affect your stroke when you are putting.
