## Overview

This set of 4 glazed terracotta clay tiles measures 6" x 6" each, covering 1 square foot. Handcrafted in Mexico, the tiles feature a unique brushed terracotta glaze over a white base, offering natural color variations that add authentic artisanal character. ## Description

This clay tile is glazed at the top in a brushed terracotta color. In the manufacturing process the whole tile is painted in white as a first step and then the rest of the tile is painted on top of the white one, so the coloring of this tile is named as terracotta over white or washed terracotta. This tile can be used as a field piece in a decorative wall as shown in the second picture. DISCLAIMER: All of our tiles have a heavily hand-made process involved; as such, imperfections are expected. Color variations are to be expected from batch to batch. What you see on your screen might not be exactly what you will get, this is mostly due to several factors, among others: lighting when the picture was taken, lighting in your own monitor, but mostly changes in the glazes used between batches. All these factors are beyond our control. If in doubt, we recommend you to order a sample before committing to a bigger order.

Unfortunately for us they were too thick for our (wall) project, but would be awesome for flooring or other projects...they are beautiful, sturdy, and we're sad they didn't work out for us. (We were installing tiles around our fireplace and had already purchased tiles with native prints on them so we had to go with the same width tiles.)
Review: Worked - The color of the tile that I received didn't match the image on desertcart. However, I was able to color-match the tile at a hardware store and hand painted the tiles to match my existing tiles. Seems to be working pretty well.

A: tiles have a smooth finish

**Q: Are these tile sealed? Can they be stained?**
A: They are glazed tiles. No sealer needed!

**Q: How do you clean these?**
A: I am very sorry but I cannot help you with that question about cleaning the terracotta clay tiles.  They had a finish on them and I had ordered them for our propane oven in the RV.  In that case I had needed unpainted.  I would assume since there was a finish youn could wipe them with a damp cloth.

I place these on the bottom rack of my oven. They are great well-constructed clay tiles. If you look at Williams-Sonoma or any other kitchen store the same thing cost you a whole lot more money. I make baked goods and pies very often. In order to make a pie with a proper bottom crust you need ceramic tile in the oven. This works great! Just put 4 on the bottom rack and preheat the oven for 15 minutes at your desired temperature.
