It's hard to find covers that drop down enough to hide both the mattress and box spring, but this one did. Unfortunately, it wasn't a very pretty cover. The color wasn't exactly the same as the photo and resembled denim more than the solid dusty blue that is shown in the photos. The material was also shiny and felt almost like plastic rather than something soft you'd like to snuggle under at night. It was also crazy thin and would not have provided much warmth. The bed I purchased this for is a platform with very deep mattress. Actually washed & dried hoping to loose a couple of inches in that process - only lost just under a single inch all around. If you are purchasing for a non-platform bed, go ahead it’s big enough. This is a SUMMER bedding item. It’s very lightweight - a bit too much for my personal taste, but am using with an all cotton blanket.
