I can't recall the name of the last pair but very similarβ€”volume, mic, extra gels and a case came with that pair and they sounded amazing but I loved them for their comfort. Apple earbuds are too big and really hurt my ears. These curve in and the gels (when you find your size) seal your ear and block out all noise. While these don't claim to be noise cancelling, pretty close for $34.99. I bought my old ones for $50.00. Updates: flat cable that is shorter. That's a welcome upgrade as the old ones tangled SO badly and were longer than they needed to be. Controls are different but I think I'll like that they separated the volume from the music and call controls. I wear these under my motorcycle helmet when riding and sometimes I would accidentally crank the volume when I just wanted to skip a track. Light turns green and I'd be stuck with a song I don't like at max volume. Anyway, great earbuds. Don't hesitate. If you take care of them they will last for years. Last pair blew one speaker or the wire wore out, not sure. One bud was crackling. The strum has an amazing effect on your years fits in perfect and bass is awesome and vocals are crisp and instrumental magic is heard for perfectly.
