Having said that I quite like it and don't find it overly bitter as I see mentioned in a number of other reviews, but I've been cleansing and taking herbs for many years. My understanding regarding the bitter flavour is that this is part of it's cleansing nature, and is good for the liver and so I welcome this because I ordered the tea for the ingredients and it's action on the body. When you find the bitter taste overwhelming, it's a sign you REALLY need what's in this tea! We avoid bitter tastes in our culture, and are also overloaded with toxins - so if you're new to cleansing, you're going to find it bitter - if you want the benefits, you're going to have to find a way to get it down you!
