Annoying and thoughtless. ### ⭐⭐⭐ OK for a cheap disposable bottle holder, but ... *by E***R on Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2013* I have had 3 of these fail in the field, always with the same problem: a cracked weld seam where the wire cage is attached to the mounting bracket on the "joint" side. They last about a year of bouncing around on potholed roads until the seam gives up. Whatever aluminum welder they use does not melt the rod material into the wire deeply enough, or it is of the wrong material, resulting in the cracking of the joint away from the wire holder. I usually catch this when I check and lube the bike after each ride. I have not lost any water bottles yet because I catch the problem before both sides of the bracket fail.I treat these things like tire tubes or Kleenex; use them until they have a problem, and then throw them away. I keep one spare holder around at all times in anticipation of the next failure, then swap them out and order the next replacement so I will have one ready when the inevitable failure occurs. They match the "look" of my Titanium bike frame, so I keep using them, but I would sure like it if they would turn up the heat on their welders so that these things would last a little longer. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ You get what you get. My unit arrived without any paint chips, however it was slightly bent off alignment. This is typical for these types of products and simply require use of mild force to bend it back to true.This kind of nominal stress will (which is the equivalent to un/loading a bottle in conjunction with road vibration), over time, separates the cheap welds, a common problem across the board for these things, which warrants replacement. So far this thing has held up, but I wish I didn't have to stress the cage to center it, possibly weakening the weld joints even prior to a ride.This just just how it goes with these things, so it's no deal breaker for me.
