Philips Compatible HQ6/50 Quadra/Aquagenic Triple Pack Rotary Cutting Heads

I did not read peoples review of this item before buying. They look like the Philips shaving heads, but 3 year old heads work better than these do.If you like long hairs being pulled out rather than cut, then these are for you.

I read all the bad reviews for these but couldn't find any significantly better ones so bought them to replace a broken foil on my Philips Quadra. Sure enough the first few days were disappointing, with the shave being uncomfortable and not very close. However, as one of the original heads was broken, I couldn't switch back, so persevered whilst looking for a replacement razor. Surprisingly the performance of these heads seemed to slowly improve over a week or so. After a month I'm finding them quite acceptable. Not sure of the reason for this but I guess it might be due to the blades "bedding in" and wearing down imperfections on the poorly manufactured surfaces. I don't think they'll ever be as good as the originals, and they certainly don't have the "lift & cut" twin blade setup, but I'm not as unhappy with them as when they were first fitted.

These arrived very early in September and I have been using them since then.Well the main word in the description is "compatible".Yes they do fit perfectly in the shaver and, yes they do rotate when you switch the shaver on, but ...There is definitely something different between these and the original design. These tend to pull on the hairs on occasion and they definitely take longer to shave with giving the impression that they are not sharp. I did a trial with them and my old original blades, which must be 6 years old, and, to be honest, there was no difference in the smoothness that was achieved. In fact because of that fact I may well revert to my original blades because at least they cut without tugging.I wouldn't recommend these as a direct replacement, if you can get the original manufacturer product then just accept that you will pay a bit more.

These cutters looked like the Phillips originals and fitted into the razor perfectly. That is the only positive thing that can be said about them. The shaving performance was worse than the 10 year old cutters I was replacing. On closer inspection the domed centre disc of the foil sits above the foil itself, whereas on the originals the domed area is below the level of the foil allowing the foil to make full contact with the skin. When I used the original foils with the new cutters the shaving performance was perfect.
