Review: Great outdoor light, versatile can be used indoors - We have a large number of smart bulbs and sockets in the house, many of which are Phillips. We do have a Phillips hub, and we use Alexa. We spend many evenings outside in summer and wanted a coloured light to add to the other lights we have out there. We also plan to use it indoors. I was concerned about some reviews saying it needs charging after every use. We have had this 3 days now, and after only one charge it has been on every night. The light can be operated from Alexa, although the colour choice is limited. Using the Phillips app gives lots of colour choices. We have kept the brightness level quite low as that seems to work best outside. Operating the colours manually offers a few “scene” choices like candlelight, but these are not replicated on the app for some reason. You can create the look you want though, using the app. I think this looks lovely outside, and it will add some colour and atmosphere to an outdoor party. It was expensive, but we are pleased with it.

With the battery making them portable the kids have been known to pinch them for night time reading under the covers. They provide plenty of light that we don't always use the main bedroom light when we have these at full brightness.

**Q: Is it possible to hang this light on a wall?**
A: I don't think its possible to wall mount. They are designed to be placed on flat surfaces really.

**Q: Mine doesn’t work with Alexa. Does anyone else have this problem?**
A: I too keep having this problem. Product help says to delete the light in the Alexa app and add it again. I’ve done this a couple of times and then gave up because it was such a pain. I now use the Philips hue Bluetooth app on my phone to program the wake & sleep functions and also to switch it on and change the colour. There goes my routine of leaving my phone downstairs when I sleep!

**Q: Can this hue light be used to extend the range of my hue bridge? My hue bridge doesn't cover whole home but I've heard that the lights act as repeater**
A: I can’t be 100% sure with this light but as a rule Zigbee devices do act as repeaters so long as they are of the powered type and not battery. As this has both a battery and can be left powered it has a bit of both.
I have 3 of these lights around my home as well as other Hue lights and so far I haven’t had any connection problems even with bulbs that are well away from the hub.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pricey for what it is, but you get what you pay for

This is the perfect bedside lamp in my opinion. While the cost of Philips Hue products is always pricey - even before the Hub, required to integrate with Google Home, Alexa, etc - the Hue Go 2 is worth it. I have a Google Home automation to have the light slowly brighten to a warm white over 5 minutes to emulate a sunrise, and it works very nicely. The battery life only lasts a few hours, so I just leave it plugged in permanently. It's a nice size - not too big, not too small - but it can be flimsy to keep upright as the straight area of the base is quite small.
