Review: Healthy and growing! - I received 2 cuttings on November 10th, 2023. On January 5th I have a 2 inch growth on 1 cutting and a nub growth starting on the second cutting. The cuttings arrived clean and healthy. All I did was wait a few days after their arrival to make sure that they were scared over and then planted them. I live in the tropics so I used a large planter and lined it with potting soil and where the cuttings were planted I used cactus medium. Easy peasy growing when you get healthy cuttings like this. I look forward to getting dragon fruit, hopefully next year! UPDATE: Cactus bloomed 6 months after planting. I was away for the summer and was unable to water it. I returned to about 6 buds that whithered and fell off. I figured I had to wait another year. But in September it grew another bud and the other day it opened and was ENORMOUS. Sorry, I should have taken a picture. Hoping to get this fruit to maturity. If I do, I will certainly update and add a picture. UPDATE: Sept 2025 These are definitely NOT SELF POLLINATING I've learned a few things about dragon fruit since purchasing these. I will say this variety is an insane grower. Ive had to prune it back many times in the last 2 years. I've had a multitude of gorgeous, enormous flowers and no fruit. I have just hand pollinated the last blooms about 4 days ago and am taking a wait and see attitude. The reason I say these are definitely not self pollinating is the structure of the stamen and stigma. The stigma, the part that receives pollen, is so far out beyond the stamen, the part that the pollen is on, by 2+ inches. There is no way for this flower to self pollinate. If anyone gets these to produce fruit please post that yours bore fruit. I don't need to keep these as just pollinators so I'll give these a little more time and if the don't produce they're getting chopped for fertilizer.
