Secret Indiscretions is by far the best of her work. I absolutely loved the way Hickman gave us a front row seat into the marital woes of Geneva, Johnny, Vivana, and Samuel.Yea, yea, we know; you're always on the outside looking in someone's life. Any man would be happy to have Geneva by his side. Johnny, however, feels he is the Pied Piper and can charm any woman he wants. Handsome, swagger-filled, and financially successful, his premise is well founded since women throw themselves at him. Why pay attention to what's at home when other women are available at a moment's notice? When Vivana steps into his life, he thinks he's found another woman to use and toss. Ha! This is where Hickman leaves us in a frenzy akin to a sugar rush!Drama, excitement, obsession, and no-that-man-didn't phrases sail past readers lips as we go deeper into this love square! I applaud Hickman for getting into the mindset of selfish men through Johnny's interior monologue. You'll want to slap some sense into Johnny after the first chapter. This book was oozing with drama, suspense, and obsession of the strait jacket type.Geneva Mayfield is a good woman and will do anything to keep her marriage intact including being a doormat to her husband. Deep in her heart, she knows the truth about her no good husband Johnny but when is enough, more than enough? We as women hate to give up especially on someone we love as is evident with Geneva.In this roller coaster book, we also meet Samuel Owens who has his own marital issues. It was good to see a man who tried to keep his marriage together rather than resort to cheating as a form of release. This is a rarity in most stories.As the story proceeds, there is more drama than the final episodes of Dallas. You will be left with many unanswered questions. Does Geneva finally finds happiness with her husband Johnny? What becomes of Samuel's marriage? In the meantime, the spouses are hurting and stumble across their soulmates just when they've had enough.This was my first read by this author and I was enthralled by her writing.
