They bake like normal and have absolutely no after taste when eaten raw or baked. The delivery packaging was phenomenal. Due to an appointment, I wasn't at home when they were delivered. Inside of the box, there was an air proof cold pack with three ice blocks surrounding the chips. The chips were outside in the 98 degree heat and not a single one melted. An added plus, the ice blocks can be frozen and used again. Hats off to Hershey for making a sugar free chip for those who cannot have sugar. I thank you.

**Q: What is the carb content per serving?**
A: Malitol is often absorbed more slowly than sugar. So the right answer is what is the carb like effect (raising blood sugar - raising insulin levels) in you personally, today.  And that can change over time (for better or worse) as you build up enzymes etc. to help with digestion. You can tell more with a finger stick glucose test 6, 12, 18 or 24 hours after eating a specific amount (typically 1 oz) while fasting and comparing that to other sugar containing chocolate (30 - 80%) products. Real bodies are complex.  Diet advice is fairly easy by comparison.

**Q: Whats the point of sugar free if your using Maltitol? It has a glycemic index of 35!**
A: From my understanding maltitol is a sugar alcohol and does not affect blood sugar.  A sugar alcohol is indicated by an 'ol' at the end of the word.  It is not absorbed .  Also, a glycemic index # of less than 50 indicates it is low on the index. Hope this helps.  Jean

**Q: Can these work with paleo diet?**
A: Of course they don't work in a paleo diet! Your hunter gather ancestors never found a sugar-free chocolate chip tree to pick them off of, did they? All chocolate chips are a processed food, and therefore not paleo. Limit yourself to things found in the meat & produce aisles and ignore the rest of the store, if you want to stick to a paleo diet. On a paleo diet, the only sweets you are ever going to have are fruits and certain root vegetables, such as yams

These sugar free chocolate chips Taste Great! We put them in Almond Flour cookies, and love them. But way cheaper at Walmart we just noticed.If you cant make it to the store, order them here. Here is the recipe we made.... Sugar Free, Gluten Free, Almond Flour, Chocolate Chip & Nut Cookies! Ingredients ½ cup Butter, softened ½ cup Coconut Oil, softened ¼ cup Honey ¼ cup Stevia(bag measured like sugar) ¼ cup Vanilla Syrup(sugar free) 2 Large Eggs 1 tsp Baking Soda 1 tsp Salt 3 ½ cups Almond Flour 1 cup Chocolate Chips (sugar free) 1 cup Chopped Nuts Instructions Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a bowl, cream together the butter, coconut oil, honey, stevia and vanilla syrup. Add the eggs, mixing until incorporated. Mix in the baking soda and salt. Add the almond flour, 1 cup at a time, beating well after each addition. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts. Form the dough into tablespoon rounds and place on the lined baking sheet about 3 inches apart. Bake for 11-13 minutes, or until golden brown around edges. Cool and enjoy!
