It is not very heavy in weight, but the base of each unit is well toughened and the heat is transmitted evenly. One of my concerns before placing the order is the steel handles. They look very elegant, but some other cookware with metal handles I had before were so hot while in use. The handles of this set are not hot, which is so convenient. I particularly love the milk jar. It is bigger than I expected (in a good way) and perfect for preparing soup, gravy and many other things. Another nice surprise is all the units have measurement marks inside, very thoughtful and handy.
