I think 3 inches but consult the manual. **Q: How to make it cold how dose it work** A: It's a little complicated, but I'll try to give you the abridged version. So first you have to get these little coin shaped trays. They come in the box, there's two trays with enough room for 8 coins per tray, but you have to freeze water in them so that you'll eventually have a bunch of these ice coins. So after you have about $40 worth of Ice coins (each ice coin is worth 25¢) you have to quickly insert them in the ice coin slot of the fridge, because if you go too slow the ice coins will melt. And I know what you're thinking, "don't I have to already have a freezer to make the ice coins?" Well, the short answer is yes and no. Yes if you live in warmer climates, but if it's cold enough outside you can place them overnight to freeze (to do this you will need the expansion set of Ice coin tray molds so you can get your $40 worth of Ice coins to use). So the next morning, or whenever you have accumulated enough ice coins, quickly (and carefully) pop them out of the molds and begin inserting your set of Ice coins into the ice coin deposit slot on your new mini fridge. When the mini fridge is satisfied it will immediately start to glow (check the helpful green LED located on the side for confirmation) and the door should now easily open. All you have to do now is place your chosen beverages in the fridge and you are on your way to living the good life. Never again will you be hassled to walk to another room to retrieve a beverage! Love this fridge and I’m sure you will too! ### ⭐ Fridge died 10 days before Warranty expired, Took over 2 weeks to get a refund *by E***M on October 15, 2024* The fridge never properly cooled my items but it kept it cool enough that I didn't fuss. 10 days before the expiration, it died. After going through their extensive troubleshooting, including having to go out to my car to see if worked on DC, then having to take multiple pictures of it, they decided they would send a new one out. Problem was I did not want a new fridge. I explained how I was not happy with the cooling of this fridge to begin with. After going back and forth through multiple emails, I was told a refund would be sent to my PayPal within 7-10 business days. I didn't even have a PayPal, so how would they send me a refund there? So I made a PayPal account with my email address and then waited. After 10 business days there was still no refund. I advised their Customer support and received no reply. After dealing with 2 Hurricanes almost impacting me, the follow up fell off my radar. Today after 32 days after I submitted my initial request, I finally received notification that there were funds in my PayPal. Now I will wait another 3 days for it to clear my account.
