**Q: Are cutting lines in metric?**
A: Thanks for reaching out! The lines on the mats are measured in inches.

**Q: I'm hearing about terrible orders, where is it made?**
A: Olfa is a company based in Japan - all their products are made in Japan.  They have been in business since 1956.
They have a reputation for quality products.  Not sure what you are referring to as "terrible"  - we wouldn't carry 
their products if they were inferior or didn't work as presented.

**Q: What is this mat made out of. my mom has one and i am wondering if its esd safe?**
A: Not sure what its made out of, but its some type of synthetic rubber/plastic.  With all plastics, there might be off gassing at first, but that goes away very quickly.  This mat is completely safe.  If you that concerned, lay it flat in another room (or garage) for a day or two to get rid of any "smell".  Tell your mom to stop fussing.   Its not toxic.

**Q: If I were to use the grid lines to trace lines on regular printer paper, would the surface be too rough to write on?**
A: The surface is actually quite smooth, so I don't think you would have any problems tracing lines.

I started quilting recently and bought a small Olfa mat to begin with. When it was time to get something bigger and more versatile, I ordered a different brand figuring all mats were the same and it had a lot of good reviews. Dumb decision on my part, I used it once and ordered this to replace that mistake. I've had zero problems with either of my Olfa mats. If the rotary cutter actually goes into this, I haven't seen any cut lines, no fabric lint stuck in the surface, and no surface bits coming off during a cut. It just lays there looking perfect and protecting my table while giving a nice smooth surface to cut on. I don't know how long these are supposed to last, but my expectation is that it'll be just as nice for years.
