It is the first in the series of three, and there is not much organization to the scales. Section one does C Major to 5 sharps, then 5 flats with Gb and F# as the sixth sharp/flat, ok, then cross-handed arpeggios, same organization, ok. Then section four does the minors with no organization, c minor, then g minor, then d minor, etc, no organization, confusing to learn as they don’t tell you the major chord it is relative to. By the way, only five finger scales, so you don’t learn the whole scale. The cover tells you that. But there is so much you have to figure out on your own. They don’t tell you which minor scale goes to what major, just random minor scales. So much you have to figure out and write in yourself. They call it an elementary book, but expect you to know more. They could have done a better job presenting the material. Disappointing for an elementary level book. That was my original thinking, but after working through the book, I find it a goldmine of information. A little beyond an elementary book, but worth it.
