I am a hard hitter and do go through heads quickly, but I like to switch it up from time to time and try other styles of playing that focus on dynamics. I haven't had much luck with triple ply heads in the past. It seems that they lack any tone unless tuned really tight. Without being tuned tight, they would have a fat sound with barely any tone. I took a chance on this head, and I couldn't be happier. I've used it tuned every way possible, and it really projects while still having an musical tone and versatility. I really like how you can even play ghost notes and the head reacts very dynamically. I cant really describe how happy this head has made me and the feel it has given to my snare drum. After 3 months of use, it is holding up better than any other head I've used in the past.
