After having sampled both of the Near East varieties, I was slightly disappointed in the flavor intensity of this product. I was caught off guard by the extremely mild taste considering that spices are listed in the ingredients. The mushroom flavor is also very mild and I can imagine someone who doesn't enjoy mushrooms liking this. This may be a plus if you'd like to add your own spices and vegetables. I added some ground peppercorn and sea salt on the second tasting and that seemed to bring out more of the flavor.This mix contains dried mushroom and onion pieces which vary from very large to tiny depending on the container.
