**Q: Does this base have a hole that the Christmas tree pole goes directly through down to the floor or does it stop the pole from touching the floor ?**
A: The pole does not touch the floor.  It sits in a “pocket”, for lack of a better word, and you tighten the screws around the pole to stabilize the tree.

**Q: Will it fit a 1.4 inch pole?**
A: Since the description states  "1.25 inch Diameter Pole or Less." 
1.4 > 1.25, so I am inclined to believe 1.4" would be too large.

**Q: How do you measure the diameter of the pole ?**
A: Measure across the center of the bottom of the pole at it’s widest part. Our 8’ tree fitted just fine.

**Q: What's the diameter of the tube the pole fits in?**
A: This fits poles 1/2 inch to 1 1/4 inch.  The tube on the stand is 1.3 inches.
