It will give a very high reading. Second, DO run it a few times without breathing into it. It needs to be reset and I notice it takes a 2 or 3 times even 4 times of running without breathing into it to get it back to a low number (0.3 or less). Be careful that you don't get 0.00 with the red light before testing your breath. If you do, try again until you get a low reading with a green. Only after that will you get a fairly accurate reading. They tell you to do this when you first use to clear it. They don't tell you you must do this EVERY time you use it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It works??!!! *by N***L on Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2019* Okay, no one told me that those test strips were for very very very limited usage. I've been doing Keto for 6 months and for the last 2 the test strips kept saying I wasn't in Keto although I'm only eating enough vegetables to stay healthy, no starchy carbs at all, and meat--and only one meal per day with no snacking. And I haven't been losing weight for the last 2 months after a medical test and prep. in the mornings when I wake before I brush my teeth, my mouth tastes sort of "fruity" although that's not quite precisely correct. According to this gizmo, I am in Keto but it seems my body has gotten used to it so now i know I'm going to have to step up my exercise and perhaps add some complete fasting (none of that sissy skip breakfast or lunch "fasting"--that's just skipping breakfast or lunch) for 24-48 hour stretches. I am a fitness enthusiast and usually start my cut cycles with a protein sparing modified fast for 12 days. I wanted to know at what point in the fast I reached ketosis. I followed all the instructions including clearing the residuals before the first use and after each additional use and using it first thing in the morning. The first time I used it I received a 3.15 reading with the green status light lit. Every subsequent reading was 9.95 (still with the green light lit). I am fairly certain I’d be dead by now if those readings were accurate. I had my husband, who is not following a keto type diet, try it and he did get a 0 reading.
