Don’t know why I did, but somehow I figured I really didn’t need the strike plate. What I didn’t realize is that the strike plate (because of the beveled angle on the edge) helps the door to close immeasurably easier. This was exactly what I needed, and it installed in less than five minutes. Oh, and the door closes perfectly now!
