I didn't expect it to happen with a relatively inexpensive item like this. Wow. We had a recent snowstorm that killed a lilac tree in our front yard. It's double trunk split and I had nothing to clear it with. I'm someone that loves to do things like this manually rather than with power tools (and I'm cheap) so naturally I ordered a sharp bicycle chain with nylon handles instead of a gas chainsaw.And man was I right to do so. This thing rocks. I've been able to get through the trunk in several places that are 5"-6" in diameter. And fairly quickly too. I got it for this particular task but I'm also a PacNW mountain biker and come across fallen trees pretty much all winter and fall. Being able to clear larger ones for my fellow riders is awesome, and since this tool is light enough to be negligible weight in my pack I'm happy to carry it. I'm also and offroader and I'll certainly be throwing it in the back of the truck just in case, could be the difference between the trail ending or getting on through.It also comes with an emergency blanket, a downloadable wilderness survival PDF and a handwritten thank you note. Don't think it was made to cut down standing trees, but had to make sure it could stand up to some abuse to take up space in my pack. If you spend time out in the wood you need one of these with you. It's light small, and will get the job done. The vedio is of the second tree I cut down. I could sneak under it but it was a big hassle when carrying a pack. While I purchased this saw to use on RV camping trips I decided to test it out by trying to remove the downed tree from the trail.It worked, much to my surprise and delight, exactly as advertised. As an occasional gas chainsaw user I had doubts that a human powered version would work without a lot of time and effort. I was delighted to discover how wrong my preconception was.
