This is a simple, very convenient and certainly effective way to keep cool. It's actually more like a scarf in shape than a towel, but that's immaterial . My daughter uses wet muslin squares applied to the children's backs at bedtime during the really hot spells, but this towel is one step up from that, especially as the children would be able to recharge the towels by shaking, thereby saving their parents having to troll up and downstairs to run them (the towels) under a cold tap.I can now hoover the house on a hot day without ending up with frizzed hair and a very unattractive boiled-face look - just by wearing a damp scarf round my neck. Also, I've tried the towel draped over my feet at night with the duvet folded back (towel placed on a chillow pad, which protects the bed from the wet, as well as the chillow itself being cooled by the towel), over my shins while watching TV, and folded, on my forehead if a headache threatens. A week at Florida theme parks with 85-95F was much more enjoyable using this towel. Wet it, shake it, and drape it to stay cool for 3-4 hours. Refresh it with water to keep using it. For added comfort, hold it in front of an air conditioner outflow vent! Being lightweight, it wasn't a noticeable neck garment. Being bright green, it was noticed! Be sure to wash and rinse it, and hang to dry thoroughly at the end of each day to keep it working properly and smelling fresh. We used a couple of drops of hotel shampoo to clean it. It's easy to hand wash and dries nicely when hung on hanger.Only downside is the container. The top threads fussily and took several tries to close. When it went on slightly crooked, it was impossible to remove.
