The material is about as thick as any you find in a store but these are much better. The cases aren't super big (approx 2 1/2" by 4") but have really nice compartments of different sizes. The lids on the compartments snap really well and stay shut. I love these pill organizers and use them to put earrings in (really big earrings won't fit in them) for travel and storage. I have bought at least 10 of these cases and would highly recommend. Love the colors they come in too.
