They are a plastic like material not cardboard or paper so if something spills on them they can be wiped off and will not be ruined. Also they have a glimmer or pearl shimmer to them which makes them look expensive without spending the $. And he numbers are on both sides which they don't tell you in the discription. If you buy these you will not be disappointed! And they go with any holder you don't hve to buy the back one that is shown in the pic. I bought cheaper ones that are silver with rhinestones and they look just as good. Also they would fit in a 5x7 frame if u wanted to show the scalloped edging or a 4x6 if you just want the # to show and no detail. So many ways to display these and so budget friendly. I would say search around for different holders though.
